The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was honored to give more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last year, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a critical part of this community.”
Minnie’s Food Pantry was started by Cheryl Jackson as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent her younger years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to utilize the food they are given to cook nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume support along with financial and job classes to help people get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
